ORLANDO – Frank Vogel had tremendous success during his 5 ½ seasons as head coach of the Indiana Pacers, and he feels much of it is attributable to superstar forward Paul George’s ``buy-in and support’’ to his system.
But for all that Vogel was helped by George, the all-star swingman said there’s no comparison when stacking up everything that his former coach did for him. Theirs was a bond that went well beyond basketball and always felt like family, George said.
``We had a great six years together and he was by my side when I got injured and he flew all the way out to Vegas come and see me,’’ said George, referring to the horrific compound fracture in his leg while competing for USA Basketball in 2014.
