In 2019 Eric DeCosta was named the Sporting News NFL Executive of the Year. There is no honor more prestigious for a league executive – an award voted on exclusively by NFL front-office personnel and personnel decision-makers. It represents ultimate respect, and it happened when DeCosta was just in his first season as the Ravens Executive Vice President and GM. To put that in perspective, it’s like a rookie player winning NFL MVP.
Fast forward to the present, and today DeCosta is battling to save his reputation. Trust built over years with other GM’s and player agents has been tarnished.
